I
have heard back from so many people that adopted one of our
kittens shortly after the loss of their beloved furry companion
and what I remember hearing the most was .... that their new
kitten helped them thru their grieving process. Some admitted
to selfishly hugging their new kitten in an effort to try and
hug their best friend again. To their surprise, they soon realized
that they had enough love to give to both of them. Smiles were
instantly seen on their face as they watched their new kittens'
playful actions ... reminding them of their dear friend and
at the same time helping them to wipe away their tears. They
knew that another kitten could never take the place of their
best buddy nor will they ever forget their friend. They worried
that they were being unfaithful by silently searching for another
... but in the end, they realized that sharing their love with
another was the highest compliment they could pay to their faithful
friend ... not just because of the sorrowful void that they
were now left with ... but also because they knew that another
kitten needed them. I too was one of those folks mentioned above.
